I am looking closely, walking slowly and listening intently.
When I walk past a Magnolia tree in spring, I stop to stroke the impossibly soft buds, they’re like mice. I imagine at dusk the buds come to life and the trees are covered in soft dancing creatures welcoming the flowers into life.
When I walk through a field of Plantain in flower, I kneel down to admire the pollen covered heads. I imagine fairies dancing in a miniature meadow of plantain pollen. I wish to join them.
When I walk past a Campsis climber in August, just as the vivid petals are falling off and revealing the beautiful pistils, I see dragons coming to life. They sing to me.. or they are singing and I am listening, but my god I hear, see, and absorb it all into my being.
I am an ecologically driven artist, the world around me is why and how I am creative.
